"Don't make empty promises." This was my New Year's resolution last year. It really was my only one.

and i actually think that generally, i did keep to that. the only promise (i hope) which i broke was one to myself. i promised myself that i wouldn't drop anymore subjects but i dropped KI. but i mean it's just a sacrifice and i'm not gonna beat myself up for it.

other than that; i didn't quit in anything. and i really must say i'm proud of myself for that. it wasn't easy definitely. i could've just quit anytime i want but i stuck through and i'm glad i did. they say 2009 was a shit year. yea it was hard, but i would never be how i am right now if the year didn't happen. and you would say the same too. a year can either break us, or make us. and 2009 really has changed me and my attitude towards life.

so i was thinking what New Year's resolution i should make tonight before the clock strikes 12, then i realised that 2010 is gonna be one hell of a year. there's gonna be A's. there's gonna be my first play in a competitive sports tournament. there's gonna be big decisions that i would have to make before 2011 comes. and i'm just mentally preparing myself for them all.

in all honesty;

i'm sick of studying. i don't want to study anymore. i'd rather learn on my own terms. it's more effective. i mean 3 days after your exams you just forget everything anyway. all i want to do is stay home. watch tv/dramas and play with my 3 year old niece. doing that makes her happy, and it makes me happy.

so i used the day to organise my room. move some furniture around,rearrange some things. even though i had a study plan to follow but i mean i might as well clean my room now cos i know i'll need to clean it up later in the week before raya. at least half of my room is cleared.

and then i realised something.

i have a lot of junk.

and i can't bear to throw any of them away. cos i'm that sentimental. i keep everything that reminds me of anything special. i kept everything from my japan trip, and i seriously mean EVERYTHING; the receipts, the plastic bags, the maps, the pamphlets, the pre-trip prep stuff. and then there's those things from cedar; all the pictures we took, postcards, letters, my whistle from oac. and i still have most of my school books from sec 1.

no wonder i'm running out of storage space. srsly.
